Martinborough accommodation is sought after by increasingly discerning visitors and so First Tee was recently purchased to be offered to that sophisticated market. Built brand new in 2004 and located in the prestigious Martinborough Estate it fronts onto the First Tee at the Martinborough Golf Course and you can watch the various groups tee off or stroll for 30 seconds to the first tee and tee off yourself. Later you can stroll less than 1km to the top vineyards in Martinborough like Stonecutter vineyard and down the road is Alana Estate where you can enjoy a sumptuous lunch in their new café. After that you can stroll to 1/2 a dozen top Martinborough vineyards easily including Ata Rangi, Vynfields, Margrain, Tirohana Estate and Martinborough Vineyard. Be sure to try the Martinborough Pinot Noirs which are considered to be some of the best in New Zealand.

Later sit back and enjoy a DVD on the 48" HDMI Philips TV and surround sound system or BBQ outdoors and enjoy the views over the first fairway and 8th tee. Modern appliances are incorporated into the well equipped kitchen which opens to the outdoors by means of a server window and/or double doors. A separate lounge is at the front of the house with very modern furniture including leather lounge suites and on cold winter nights a very efficient wood burner. Covered verandas along the front and rear of the house offer pleasant outdoor living opportunities and there is comfortable outdoor furniture to lounge on.

You will find Extra Virgin Olive oils, pepper grinders, coffee plunger with freshly ground L'Affare coffee, Twinings teas, a big range of cereals and an extensive range of kitchen utensils to add that special touch to your stay. The appliances include 4 gas hobs and double ovens and 2 dish drawers perfect for catering to large groups. There is also a large range of glassware to suit exactly your choice of wine or cocktail and a full range of cookware including a slow cooker (crock-pot).

The beds are fully prepared with top quality bed linen and lots of sumptuous pillows. Fluffy towels are in abundance and 3 bedrooms have Super King Size beds 1 bedroom has a double bed and a bedroom study has a single bed and there is a stretcher bed for a 10th person all fully made up and 3 bedrooms have a wardrobe for your use. Your comfort and enjoyment are assured.

Outdoor furniture includes tables and chairs front and rear of the house and a gas BBQ. Lovely evenings can be spent enjoying the outdoors. The rear courtyard, surrounded by a lemon grove and looking at the First Tee and fairway is a delightful spot to enjoy the outdoors or enjoy the sunsets from the front veranda.

The Martinborough village centre is only 1.0 km away and there you will find 2 hotels including the wonderfully restored Martinborough Hotel and a selection of restaurants, cafes and shops. Diners will find everything from breakfast through to a la carte dinners of the highest standard and of course the local wines are plentiful.

Annual attractions are the Martinborough Fair which is held on the first Saturday of February and March of each year. The fairs are huge in both the number of exhibitors and the visitors that attend each year. The Martinborough Wine and Food Festival (Toast Martinborough) is also very popular and is held on the third Sunday of November each year. TK Day (shortened from Te Kairanga day) is also popular and is held each year in January.

The Martinborough Golf Course is a 30 second stroll away and the 18 hole facility is well manicured and a most enjoyable venue.

There are varied walking tracks nearby with some spectacular views over the countryside. Walk among the farmer's animals in a lot of cases. A drive to Lake Ferry is recommended particularly if you are a whitebait fan as the Lake Ferry Hotel usually always offers locally caught whitebait on the menu. Adventure activities are catered for by various companies in Martinborough offering three wheeler adventures or jet boating etc.
